Web Designer at Connective Business Solution, Tallahassee, FL.
General Characteristics

Responsible for the design, development and creation of user-centered designs for web sites. This role includes human factors engineering, heuristic evaluations and usability testing for web and client-based applications, along with metrics setting and monitoring to assess usability of the web application. Collaborates with graphic designers, product managers, engineering staff and other web designers to improve the usability, usefulness and desirability of web sites. Must be able to perform usability tests, provide design prototypes and offer ad-hoc user interface consulting.
Responsibilities

Gather requirements and articulate user interface issues, including developing page/site prototypes.
Apply user-centered design methodology, create user scenarios, conduct usability testing, storyboard and develop paper and interactive prototypes.
Demonstrate skills in graphic applications, HTML development tools and other authoring tools; produce web content and front-end development using programming and scripting languages.
Integrate design into program rules and system architecture, creating innovative approaches to improve the end-user experience.
Ensure platform/browser compatibility and address basic usability issues.
Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Graphic Design or another related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience

A minimum of 3 years of combined IT and graphic design experience. Proficiency in HTML, strong working knowledge of web generators and photographic libraries, and a portfolio of web sites or solutions.
Complexity

Intermediate professional level. Works on moderately complex to complex projects requiring solid understanding of web design and layout. Manages multiple projects as a team member and sometimes as a project leader. May coach junior technical staff.
