Job Description
TITLE:

Classroom Teacher

FLSA: Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree
Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate
Any additional certifications/qualifications specified by the Louisiana Standards for State Certification of School Personnel Bulletin 746

REPORTS TO : Principal/Assistant Principal/Other Assigned Evaluator

JOB GOAL : To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. The teacher is responsible for growth in student learning.

TERM:

Nine, Ten, Eleven or Twelve Months

SALARY : Nine, Ten, Eleven or Twelve Month Teacher Salary Schedule

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

I. Instructional Responsibilities
A. Establish learning objectives and maintain a lesson plan.

B. Teach effectively using a variety of techniques and materials.

C. Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.

D. Maintain a positive classroom environment and promote student discipline.

II. Administrative Responsibilities
A. Follow school rules and regulations.

B. Follow duty schedule and attend meetings.

C. Supervise students and maintain class attendance.

D. Prepare and manage field trips.

III. Professional Responsibilities
A. Demonstrate enthusiasm and self-confidence.

B. Maintain positive public relations with parents.

C. Participate in professional development and stay current with educational literature.

D. Carry out performance expectations in alignment with NIET rubric.

IV. Personal Responsibilities
A. Observe conduct standards and act as a role model.

B. Maintain professional appearance and communication.

C. Ensure punctuality and timely completion of required records.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $44,522 Per Year
