The Web Designer at PNWU is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and functionality of PNWU.edu. The position ensures a cohesive brand identity across all website pages, supports marketing goals such as student and employee recruitment, scholarship donations, and public awareness, and collaborates closely with the marketing team and other stakeholders to create UI/UX designs, functional interfaces, and new web features.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, creation, and maintenance of the University’s website, focusing on functionality, user experience, appearance, accessibility, and conversion rate optimization.

Evaluate and improve website organization and layout, implementing appropriate information architectures to maximize user experience and performance.

Coordinate with campus members to create and modify webpages for specific purposes or outcomes.

Serve as the primary point of contact for web-related inquiries pertaining to content, design, and imagery.

Design and produce consistently branded digital products that deliver compelling experiences to key audiences.

Contribute to the strategy, design, and execution of digital campaigns that drive visitors to the University’s website.

Perform ongoing maintenance to ensure web performance, security, and cross‑browser functionality.

Plan, schedule, and manage project timelines, communicating effectively with departments and MarCom team members.

Requirements
Education

Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, design, website design/development, advertising, computer science, or a related field.

Experience

3–4 years of web development experience using WordPress or a similar content management system.

Demonstrated knowledge of web design, UI design, UX design, and accessibility best practices.

Preferred: Experience using web analytics to optimize webpages for organic and paid traffic and conversion rate optimization.

Additional consideration for HTML/CSS/JavaScript knowledge and experience in marketing, communications, or higher education.
