Job Summary
Manages the development and execution of internal communications that keep employees informed, engaged and aligned with organizational priorities. The role is responsible for day-to-day communications production and editorial coordination while also supporting the planning and execution of organization-wide Town Halls and other internal initiatives. Working closely with, and reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, this position ensures that communications are clear and consistent, and helps strengthen internal communications systems, processes, and engagement across the organization to drive a unified culture, turn employees into brand champions, and help employees understand how they support IEEE strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Content and Channel Management
Own production of internal communications (newsletter, InsideIEEE, announcements)
Draft and edit internal announcements, articles, and organizational updates across channels
Ensure consistency in tone, voice, messaging
Manage publishing schedules
Editorial & Stakeholder Coordination
Own and maintain the internal communications editorial calendar
Coordinate communications requests across departments and stakeholders
Gather and synthesize content from stakeholdersEnsure deadlines are met
Town Hall Execution
Own Town Hall logistics and coordination
Maintain Town Hall timelines, checklists, and planning materials
Draft Town Hall promotional communications
Coordinate collection and formatting of presentation materials
Support live event execution (e.g. managing Q and A, chat monitoring, audience engagement tools)
Draft post-event recap communications and coordinate distribution of recordings and materials
Communications Systems
Maintain communications templates, toolkits, and resources
Document internal communications processes and workflows
Maintain archives of internal communications materials
Identify opportunities for improvement
Travel Information

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Communications, Writing, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing (Required)
Work Experience: 4-7 years internal communications, corporate communications, employee engagement, or related fields (Required); Experience supporting large-scale internal events is a plus (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications: Professional certifications in communications, project management, or related areas (e.g., IABC, PRSA, PMP) are a plus (Preferred)
Skills and Requirements: Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills; Strong project management and organizational abilities; Ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholder needs; Familiarity with internal communications platforms and content management tools; Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy; Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams; Comfort with live event support and digital engagement tools
