Position Description
The Assistant Marketing Manager, reporting to the Marketing Manager, plays a vital role in bringing the vibrant calendar of community events and marketing initiatives at Union Depot to life. We are seeking someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment where attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and creative energy are essential to success. The ideal candidate will be both a meticulous planner, coordinating logistics, tracking metrics, and managing inventory, as well as a creative storyteller who can capture the spirit of Union Depot through engaging social media content and marketing campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and execute public‑facing signature and community events, including Doggie Depot, Train Days, BOOnion Depot, Holiday Tree Lighting, Bake Sale, CPKC Holiday Train, European Christmas Market, Art Crawl, weekly yoga and monthly blood drives.

Organize and lead all aspects of internal Union Depot events, managing the process from initial planning through post‑event evaluation. This includes developing layouts, timelines and detailed memos, arranging logistics and vendor participation, overseeing day‑of event operations, and partnering with internal teams, tenants and stakeholders to ensure event success and seamless execution.

Develop and implement new events and programming to achieve property goals and enhance community engagement.

Collaborate and communicate effectively with key stakeholders, vendors, tenants and clients during planning and execution phases.

Create detailed event recaps and analyze event outcomes and feedback and recommend improvements to enhance future events and guest experiences.

Partner with Marketing Manager to develop and implement a comprehensive promotional plan for all events.

Content Creation & Digital Management

Manage all aspects of the Union Depot social media program, including content strategy, creating original content, publishing, and maintaining Union Depot Facebook and Instagram channels, in alignment with established brand standards and voice.

Opportunity to develop, launch and grow a new Instagram page dedicated to Union Depot private events, with full responsibility for strategy, creation of original posts and audience growth.

Maintain a comprehensive content calendar that balances the four pillars of the brand: community events, private events, tenants, and transit.

Monitor, engage with, and respond to audiences daily to foster community engagement and brand loyalty across all platforms.

Track, analyze, and report on key social media metrics to achieve growth and engagement goals for each social media channel.

Manage the property's digital signage and wayfinding program, ensuring timely updates and alignment with marketing initiatives.

Maintain Union Depot website and event calendar, regularly posting accurate and current information.

Create marketing assets for the property, ensuring consistency with brand standards.

General Marketing & Administration

Support the Marketing Manager in executing branding efforts and implementing strategic marketing plans aligned with property goals.

Contribute to the development and execution of all internal and external communication strategies and campaigns to drive property traffic and awareness.

Plan, track, and report on multiple metrics, including property traffic, event attendance, social media analytics, and website engagement.

Assist with the creation and distribution of marketing and branded collateral and event supplies, maintaining alignment with brand standards and property needs.

Monitor event expenditures and manage marketing inventory to ensure effective use of resources and adherence to the marketing budget.

Complete additional assigned administrative or operational tasks as needed to support marketing and event programming.

Stay current with industry trends and innovations to keep the property competitive in the market.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, event management or a related field.

3+ years' experience in marketing, event planning, advertising, social media management or a related field.

Experience creating and developing events from concept to execution.

Proficient in content creation and managing social and digital media platforms.

Excellent project and time management skills with ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal teams and external partners.

Self‑motivated and capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.

High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, as required by event programming.

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs to support event set‑up and tear‑down, move about facility and stand for long periods of time.
