Sales Manager - Freight Forwarder (35982)

An international freight forwarding company in the Elk Grove Village, IL area is searching for

Sales Manager

to join their Sales & Business Development team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience in new business development at a freight forwarder or 3+ years of freight forwarding operations experience in a client-facing role.

*This is a full-time, direct-hire, exempt position with comprehensive benefit package.

Develop new business by establishing new accounts and expand existing accounts

Develop and propose customized pricing strategies and services to win new business

Negotiate contract terms and rates with new and existing clients to close deals

Collaborate with logistics partners (shipping company, airlines, warehouses, etc.) and operations teams to ensure execution of clients' requests

Communicate with both existing and new clients to resolve their issues and develop solutions including visiting client, vendor, or port locations if necessary

Draft various reports (sales activity, pipeline progress, revenue forecasts, etc.) on a weekly, monthly and annual basis

Communicate with clients regarding satisfaction, documentation, and compliance

Other Duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.

Bachelor Degree or professional certification, or equivalent experience

Must hace minimum of 3 years of experience in

freight forwarding sales/customer service

Excellent communication skills. Must be able to meet new customers and build relationships

Must be able to communicate fluently in both written and verbal English

Must be able to travel

Must have valid driver’s license

While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
