Operations Supervisor – The Toro Company
This employee leads a production team on the 1st shift and has overall responsibility for performance and continuous improvement. The role includes planning and assigning work, training, performance management, facilitating problem solving, and administering policies. The supervisor performs other duties as assigned.

What Will You Do?

Direct efforts to ensure timely production and shipment of cost‑effective, high‑quality products.

Assist with and communicate performance objectives, providing the context and meaningful targets for team members.

Assist with establishing metrics regarding people, quality, delivery, cost and innovation; manage and encourage discussion pertinent to team members.

Drive a structured continuous improvement process ensuring employee empowerment.

Encourage the generation of improvement ideas for safety, quality and delivery or cost reduction.

Assign responsibility for investigation and implementation of approved ideas.

Provide feedback concerning idea closure.

Facilitate the removal of improvement roadblocks.

Conduct daily/weekly stand‑up meetings with team members to discuss issues, metrics, and the plan for the day and emphasize continuous improvement.

Ensure cross‑training of team members to increase flexibility and coverage in the work area.

Utilize and implement Lean and continuous‑improvement elements to identify, evaluate and pursue process improvement opportunities continuously.

What Do You Need?

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or related technical field preferred.

Demonstrated supervisory experience, preferably in Metal Fabrication.

Enthusiasm for creating a World‑Class Continuous Improvement Process.

Results‑driven and action‑oriented; strong problem‑solving and issue‑resolution skills.

Excellent leadership and communication skills, along with the ability to make effective group presentations.

Scope

Directly supervise 15–35 non‑exempt hourly employees.

Other Job‑Related Components

Ability to work any shift.

Negligible travel required.

Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
