What you’ll do
H&R Block is seeking a Lead Content Strategy and Performance Manager to join our Corporate Communications team, reporting to the VP of Corporate Communications. You will be responsible for ensuring the right message reaches the right audience at the right time by aligning channel strategy to business priorities, improving user experience, and driving consistency, efficiency, and performance across all communication touchpoints.

This is a role for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution. You will lead cross‑functional editorial planning, optimize channel performance, and build the systems and relationships that enable our communicators to do their best work. This person will serve as the connective tissue that ensures our content works harder and drives business results.

Day to day

Lead integrated content strategy aligned to business priorities and audience needs

Define channel roles, messaging hierarchy, and content frameworks

Ensure consistency across internal and external channels

Offer guidance grounded in data, insights, and audience needs

Own enterprise editorial calendar and weekly/monthly content planning cadence

Drive cross‑functional alignment on key moments and messaging priorities

Oversee content governance standards, workflows, and approvals

Provide strategic oversight of channel mix and content distribution

Continuously optimize based on audience behavior and performance data

Ensure a seamless, consistent user experience across touchpoints

Manage intranet and media site to troubleshoot and optimize content

Ensure messaging is delivered in a timely manner during crisis situations

Define KPIs and success metrics across channels

Translate data into insights and actionable recommendations

Build reporting frameworks that connect content to business impact

Manage content and channel investment strategy

Allocate resources based on performance and priority initiatives

Identify efficiencies and opportunities to scale impact

Balance strategic investments with tactical platform maintenance needs

Establish internal and external benchmarks for content performance

Monitor industry trends and emerging best practices

Drive test‑and‑learn culture to improve effectiveness over time

Scale successful content strategies and solutions across other enterprise platforms

What you’ll bring to the team

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience

8+ years of experience in content strategy, editorial strategy, communications, digital marketing, or a related field, with demonstrated ownership of enterprise‑level content initiatives

It would be even better if you also had

Experience with enterprise calendaring and editorial planning tools to manage complex, cross‑functional content pipelines

Working knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager and/or Adobe Writer for structured content authoring and publishing

Pay Range Information
The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job‑related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short‑term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan. Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.

$101,200.00 – $161,900.00 / Yr.
