Position Summary
The Communications Coordinator supports the day-to-day execution and operations of Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF)’s communications efforts across email, website, digital platforms, print materials, and internal systems. Reporting to the Director of Communications, this role helps keep departmental priorities organized, on schedule, and aligned with DGF’s brand standards and organizational goals. This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys managing projects, improving workflows, producing polished communications materials, and contributing to mission-driven work in a collaborative environment. This role works closely with the Director of Communications and external partners to support departmental goals.

Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Department Operations

Maintain Communications Department project boards, timelines, and recurring workflows in Monday.com or similar systems.

Coordinate incoming communications requests and help prioritize timelines in consultation with the Director.

Track deadlines, approvals, and deliverables to help ensure projects move forward on schedule.

Maintain organized departmental files, templates, archives, and shared assets in Google Drive and related platforms.

Identify workflow bottlenecks and support improvements to departmental processes.

Support documentation of systems and recurring processes.

Email & Digital Communications

Build, schedule, and test email campaigns using approved templates and brand standards.

Support audience list organization, segmentation, and data hygiene within email marketing platforms.

Update website content including program pages, event listings, deadlines, and announcements.

Track and report basic performance metrics across email and digital channels, in coordination with the Director and relevant partners/contractors.

Proofread and quality-check communications materials to ensure consistency with templates and brand standards.

Content & Marketing Support

Draft first-pass copy for newsletters, event invitations, announcements, and recurring communications.

Produce templated graphics, signage, one-sheets, presentations, and other communications collateral.

Support content calendar execution and promotional timelines for programs, fundraising campaigns, and organizational initiatives with the Director and external partners as needed.

Track relevant media mentions, alumni achievements, productions, awards, and other community milestones for storytelling opportunities.

Work closely with Programs, Development, and Operations teams to support communications needs tied to grants, fellowships, fundraising, and events.

Assist with communications materials and on-site support for virtual and in-person events as assigned.

Ability to Work Remotely
This position will be required to be in the office 1-2 days per week.

Qualifications

2+ years of relevant experience in communications, marketing, project coordination, nonprofit administration, or related field.

Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

Strong written communication and proofreading skills.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines, recurring responsibilities, and shifting priorities with accuracy, ownership, and dependable follow-through.

Experience with spreadsheets, project management tools, and digital collaboration platforms.

Experience with email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact or similar systems.

Familiarity with WordPress or other website content management systems preferred.

Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools preferred.

Interest in theater, arts, culture, or nonprofit mission-driven work preferred

Eligibility for annual performance-based bonus of up to 7% of salary rate, prorated to start date. Bonus not guaranteed.
