The Press of Atlantic City is seeking a fast, digitally savvy reporter to join our newsroom and lead coverage of breaking news as it unfolds. This reporter will be on the front lines of our daily report, moving quickly from assignment to assignment and delivering accurate, timely journalism that helps readers understand what's happening right now and why it matters. The job demands urgency, sharp news judgment and comfort working in a high-tempo, digital-first environment where news rarely stands still. You'll handle a wide range of stories, from breaking news and live updates to quick-turn enterprise and explanatory reporting. One moment you may be chasing a developing story, the next providing clarity, context and accountability that helps readers make sense of fast-moving events. Flexibility and speed are essential. We're looking for a journalist who understands that great reporting and audience growth go hand in hand. Success in this role isn't measured only by scoops, but by impact, relevance and reader engagement. You'll be expected to think strategically about how stories are framed, updated and distributed across platforms to maximize reach, usefulness and trust.

Is comfortable reporting, writing and publishing quickly in a digital-first newsroom
Has strong news judgment and the ability to pivot as stories evolve
Can manage live coverage, frequent updates and multiple assignments in a single shift
Works collaboratively with editors, photographers and digital teams
Experience using digital tools and audience metrics is a plus. Familiarity with analytics, engagement trends or subscriber behavior is especially valuable, as is curiosity about how audience insights can inform coverage decisions in real time. Experience working with public records, data, spreadsheets or databases to strengthen reporting is welcomed but not required.
