Job Summary
The Casting Executive for Amazon MGM Studios will oversee and manage the casting of series and the hiring of casting directors for all Amazon MGM series, ensuring a steady flow of quality talent. The role is part of the Amazon casting team, working with other Casting Executives to implement processes and infrastructure supporting current and new programming content, and help shape the long‑term casting strategy and goals for the platform. This position works closely with Amazon MGM Executives.
Responsibilities
- Set and manage cast budgets in conjunction with Amazon MGM Studios executives and producers for series, making effective tradeoffs between production budgets and creative goals.
- Identify talent for Amazon MGM series.
- Remain current on talent for upcoming movies, series, and theatre, both domestic and international, that raise the bar for Amazon MGM Studios.
- Create operational efficiencies internally and externally.
- Provide expertise to complex negotiations (regardless of deal size) in collaboration with Amazon MGM Creatives, Legal and Business Affairs.
- Make casting decisions directly with senior Amazon MGM Executives as a self‑starter.
Basic Qualifications
- 6+ years of equivalent experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Track record of innovation.
- Excellent written, oral communication skills and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of AVOD, FVOD, SVOD or OTT video services.
- Track record of innovation.
- Excellent written, oral communication skills and presentation skills.
- Reputation for creativity, attention to detail and business insight.
- Self‑motivated with high energy and thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
