Managing Director – Outsourced Accounting Services (CAAS)
A growing New England-based CPA and advisory firm is seeking a CPA with extensive public accounting and outsourced accounting experience to lead its Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAAS) practice. This role is ideal for a senior accounting leader currently overseeing CAS/CAAS engagements, outsourced accounting teams, and middle-market client relationships within a CPA or advisory firm environment.
$200-250K annually, plus variable pay
Responsibilities
- Lead all CAAS engagements, ensuring quality, efficiency, and profitability
- Serve as a strategic advisor to middle-market clients
- Drive business development, new client acquisition, and cross‑selling efforts
- Manage team performance, mentoring, staffing, and professional development
- Oversee KPIs, budgeting, forecasting, and full P&L responsibility for the practice
- Improve processes and leverage technology solutions, including Sage Intacct
- Partner with firm leadership on growth strategy, innovation, and market expansion
Qualifications
- CPA required; MBA preferred
- 10–15+ years of progressive public accounting and/or outsourced accounting experience
- Strong leadership experience managing hybrid teams
- Proven success in client advisory, business development, and practice growth
- Experience working with middle-market clients ($5M–$50M+ revenue)
- Advanced accounting systems and technology experience
