Internship description
Lucky Break Public Relations is hiring two summer interns: one focused exclusively on PR, and one interested in a hybrid of PR and social media. We're looking for candidates who are excited to learn, have their finger on the pulse of pop culture and the latest trends, and are passionate about all social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Substack, etc.). Depending on the role, interns will support multiple accounts within hospitality, entertainment, CPG, and nonprofit verticals.
Applicant requirements
- Must be based in Los Angeles with availability to work from our office in Hollywood
- Must be available 2 - 4 days a week (Monday - Thursday) for at least 6 hours a day
Learning opportunity and responsibilities include:
Public Relations
- Build and manage media target lists as necessary to support senior team pitching efforts
- Support the team in drafting compelling pitches
- Build and manage secured media win files that are shared with the client
- Participate and contribute to strategy development with the team based on client needs; brainstorm innovative press mediums and brand building opportunities to enhance awareness for clients
Social
- Work with the social team to pitch and create original, social-first content for clients
- Continually research social media news, updates, and trends to propose ideas on how clients can successfully show up on all platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Substack, Facebook, etc.)
- Engage with followers in DMs/comments where needed, across social media platforms
- Build and maintain influencer target lists
- Create and maintain secured social win files that are shared with the client
Across both
- Sit-in on and participate in internal team meetings and brainstorms
- Participate in client events
- Participate and contribute to strategy development with the team based on client needs
