Job Summary
WTHI-TV seeks a full-time Director/TMP Operator who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The role includes directing and technical directing of live newscasts, breaking news, special reports, and pre-recorded productions; monitoring on‑air signals; and ingesting and segmenting daily programming and commercials.
Responsibilities
- Direct and technically direct locally produced programs
- Serve as Technical Media Producer (master control)
- Supervise and train production staff
- Maintain quality air signal for all local and network programming
- Ingest and QC content
- Understand the operations of all production equipment
- Coordinate maintenance for equipment repair
- Work with other departments, clients, and agencies
- Perform other job-related duties as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in broadcast media with hands‑on experience in a live television environment preferred
- Highly motivated and confident in executing difficult and complex tasks
- Self‑directed and proactive, ensuring goals are met while adhering to deadlines
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to function in a high‑pressure environment
- Ability to quickly react to changing priorities and needs
- Skill in troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise
- Good verbal and written communication skills
