Responsibilities
- Evaluate and develop transmission technologies , including:
- Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVT)
- Dual-Clutch Transmissions (DCT)
- Torque-Converter Automatic Transmissions
- Establish objective performance targets that correlate to subjective driver and evaluator feedback.
- Develop comprehensive test plans to support technology evaluations and performance verification.
- Assist CFMOTO in reviewing, comparing, and validating transmission supplier solutions to ensure alignment with performance, durability, and drivability targets.
- Work with vehicle integration teams to ensure transmission systems meet overall vehicle development goals.
- Identify opportunities for transmission optimization, calibration improvements, and performance enhancements.
- Support prototype evaluations and data-driven decision-making throughout the development cycle.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with CVT, DCT, and torque-converter automatic transmission systems.
- Proven ability to create objective performance metrics that correlate with subjective evaluations (NVH, shift feel, drivability, launch behavior, etc.).
- Background in developing testing methodologies , test plans, and performance evaluation frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of powertrain and driveline systems.
- Experience collaborating with transmission suppliers and evaluating their technical solutions.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience with powersports vehicles, ATVs, UTVs, or off-road 4WD systems.
- Familiarity with calibration development, durability testing, or control system integration.
- Ability to document engineering processes and define best practices for transmission development.
