Job Overview

As the Sales Manager for Radisson Sunnyvale, you will lead the property’s sales department, driving top‑line revenues through leadership, revenue management, marketing, and sales acumen.
Key Responsibilities

Achieve market share and revenue goals by working with the Director of Sales and setting individual and team targets within assigned market segments.
Prepare proposals and contracts that maximize profit while satisfying client needs.
Ensure revenue goals are achieved or exceeded by proactively prospecting, closing, and facilitating catering business opportunities and event execution to ensure guest satisfaction.
Respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs) aligned with brand standards.
Communicate clients’ contracted requests to all departments in an effective and timely manner via turnover to the event/convention services team.
Solicit potential guests and customers on a timely basis using a variety of tools and sales skills.
Perform outside sales calls, prospecting, hotel tours and client hosting to solicit new business.
Deliver and sell the hotel’s features and benefits to meet clients' needs.
Contact in‑house customers to retain and grow existing business, repeat bookings, or referrals to other Radisson Hotels.
Review individual goals weekly and recommend appropriate actions to achieve objectives in key result areas.
Pivot in both markets and team role as economic and team dynamics change.
Ensure maximum occupancy daily by collaborating on progress of groups booked with event services team.
Ensure all materials used are in accordance with brand standards.
Travel to trade shows and customer events, representing Choice Hotels and the hotel within company expectations.
Participate in development and implementation of business strategies for the hotel aligned with Radisson’s mission, vision, values and strategies.
Develop and implement strategies for achieving individual sales goals.
Manage Sales Coordinator—delegate, train where applicable.
Collaborate with GM on business strategies aligned with RHGA’s mission, vision, values and strategies.
Perform other duties as required to provide 100% Guest Satisfaction and genuine hospitality to our Guests.
Sales initiatives: manage RFPs, generate new leads, and provide clear, strong and creative negotiation and accommodation for client requests while delegating to direct reports to maximize efficiencies.
Conduct market research and analysis to align with industry trends and opportunities for soliciting business and maintaining client loyalty for future bookings.
Attend networking events, participate in community involvement opportunities, and serve as a strong presence for hotel service and brand advocacy.
Requirements & Qualifications

High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years sales management experience within the hotel industry.
General knowledge of contract laws.
Ability to interpret and implement strategies based on reviews of STR, TravelClick/Kalibri Labs, GDS audits, online booking tools and other similar sales tools.
Expert computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to travel; required to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time.
Capacity to lift, carry, or move up to 50 lbs., use manual dexterity with common office equipment such as computers, printers, phones.
Experience managing owner relations.
Conflict resolution skills; guest, supervisor and employee management.
Effective collaboration with other hotel employees and managers to ensure a teamwork environment.
Knowledge of hotel operations, including preparation of business plans, budgeting, forecasting, quality assurance, hospitality law, and long‑range planning.
