Job Summary

The Event Support Tech is responsible for providing on-site support to ensure that all Events related technology is deployed and running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include working with your IT Manager to review event requirements and schedules, deploy reviewed event requirements, and provide baseline troubleshooting while Events are active throughout all venues.

Essential Functions
Connect with Toyota Arena, Ontario Convention Center, ONT Field IT Managers on regular, continued, basis to review all event requirements and scheduling
Provide on-site support to deploy Event IT requirements ahead of Events. This will involve the physical running of cabling, often requiring navigating tight spaces, getting up and down from the floor, etc.
Provide on-site support during Events to identify, triage, and provide baseline troubleshooting of wired + wireless networking and end user devices
Provide on-site support during Events to relay IT related information to internal Event Managers, Event PoCs, and Event Vendors
Track all Event related issues identified in ITSM platform so that trends, recurring issues, etc. can be tracked and remediated
Assist Internal IT team in identifying, and provide insightful solutions for, trends and recurring IT issues encountered during Events
Excellent verbal skills, people skills, and the ability to potentially deescalate difficult situations with members of the public
on team members.
Required Qualifications

Minimum High School/GED education required, Bachelors in IT related field preferred
1-2 years MSP/IT Helpdesk or relevant IT/Customer Service experience strongly preferred
Experience with/high level knowledge of route/switch, wireless, and general IT helpdesk is a plus
Experience with/high level knowledge of other technologies (VOIP, ITSM, M365/IDP, etc.) is a plus
Ability to learn, solve problems, and take direction in fast paced environment
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

Tasks are performed with moderate supervision without assistance for 40% of the workday; pushing and pulling doors open, lifting, stooping, bending and lifting at least 50 lbs. Walking for long distances for more than 50% of workday. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours. Employees may be scheduled to work until 12:00am or later. Must be able to pass the background.
