Internal Communications Specialist (Analyst II)
Department of Developmental Services – Headquarters

Salary: $6,031.00 – $7,547.00 per month. Position is permanent, full‑time, paid monthly.

Position is hybrid, requiring both in‑office and remote work.

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Communications Branch Chief, the Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for coordinating, developing, and delivering internal communications that support the Department of Developmental Services mission and organizational goals.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage the Department’s intranet projects.

Develop and distribute the weekly internal bulletin newsletter.

Provide centralized, strategic support and expert guidance for internal communications planning, content development, and implementation.

Gather and organize information, develop internal communication materials, and coordinate with program areas.

Support engagement strategies that promote transparency, consistency, and awareness among Department employees.

Minimum Qualifications
Analyst II class requirements. Candidates should have relevant experience in internal communications, project management, content development, and strategic planning. Strong written and verbal communication skills, collaboration across divisions, and proficiency with digital communication tools are required.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience managing platforms that support effective, engaging internal communications.

Experience developing engaging video and graphic media.

Knowledge of communication best practices, plain‑language principles, and accessible content standards.

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.

Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
