About the Position The Communications Strategist is an experienced communications professional, knowledgeable of all communications channels and platforms. This position requires proficiency at developing client relationships and providing strategic communications counsel. The Communications Strategist leads internal communication planning and development for projects as assigned and ensures visibility across the team for consistent messaging, tone, timing, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities Develop and execute integrated communications strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives.
Coordinate across internal pillars and teams to create cohesive and integrated plans for campaigns and initiatives.
Develop outcome‑based plans for effective employee communication campaigns.
Craft compelling messages, narratives, and campaigns across various media platforms.
Develop messaging and content for co‑worker communications and internal/external presentations and engagements as needed.
Build and maintain relationships with internal business partners and stakeholders, providing counsel and recommendations that support business goals while keeping audiences’ needs at the forefront.
Provide counsel to leadership and other personnel to ensure that company messaging is consistent and communicated effectively.
Work collaboratively with other departments, leveraging team strengths and managing projects through the internal working group, including channel owners.
Collaborate across Ameren Communications team to execute communications plans.
Identify content gaps and provide strategic solutions.
Monitor and analyze communications performance to measure the effectiveness and impact to business goals, adapting strategies as necessary.
Stay abreast of developments in the field, research new tools and processes, and implement best practices for content and channel optimization across enterprise communications team.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required, preferably in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field. Five or more years of professional journalism or communication experience required. Experience in project team leadership required. Advanced degree preferred. Experience in a corporate communications or marketing team in a large corporate environment, public relations or advertising agency preferred. Energy industry experience preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will possess a contemporary understanding of marketing and communications landscape, including experience in a wide variety of traditional and digital channels; a solid grasp of customer segmentation and an aptitude for effective communications; excellent written and interpersonal communication skills; strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects; strong knowledge of digital communications and social media tools; analytical ability to identify trends based on data; ability to effectively listen and weigh competing priorities, make trade‑off recommendations, and develop creative solutions; proven proficiency with creative oral and written communications as well as public speaking; ability to prioritize tasks and assignments and manage multiple ongoing projects with demanding time constraints; ability to work as a team player; a high level of professionalism; strong project management experience; and MS Office proficiency is a must.

Compensation Range $88,500.00 - $137,200.00
