Position Summary
Samsung has developed a proprietary ad platform that leverages unique first‑party TV data to help brands connect to their audience as they explore content across desktop, mobile, tablets and SMART TVs. The Samsung Ad Platform delivers high‑quality audience targeting powered by first‑party audience data at scale, world‑class data science, and brand‑safe cross‑device ad inventory.
Role and Responsibilities
This Senior Sales Executive, focused on both owned and operated inventory and audience extension, will be a motivated self‑starter responsible for building and growing relationships with agencies across the country in major media markets for the top 100 brand marketers. The role focuses on the Automotive vertical, is national in scope, and about 70% new business. The executive will own client relationships regardless of location, think strategically, anticipate buying decisions, uncover business needs, and close deals. They will collaborate across the sales organization and support the annual revenue goal. The position is based in NY with domestic U.S. travel and occasional visits to headquarters in Korea, reporting to the Automotive Sales Director.
Desired Skills and Experience
Interested candidates should have 4–8 years of experience selling digital or TV advertising solutions, a proven hunter mindset, and the ability to build a national book of business from the ground up. Networking and prospecting skills to identify, develop, and manage new accounts that complement existing clients are essential. Experience working with top advertisers and agencies, and an understanding of the Smart TV marketplace will be valued.
Primary Responsibilities
Delivery net‑new demand & revenue across key accounts
Develop high‑level relationships with customers and serve as a trusted consultant to optimize their advertising growth
Create mid‑term and long‑term territory plans to grow the advertising business on and off the Smart TV platform
Work with agencies and brands to integrate the Smart TV platform into their media mix
Be the voice of the customer and communicate market trends and industry shifts, including implications to product teams
Act as an internal champion for proposed Smart TV advertising strategy across key Samsung stakeholders
Qualifications
Extensive experience in new business development for traditional TV and digital media advertising (minimum 4 to 8 years)
Experience selling data and complex deals (a plus)
Experience working in a hunter capacity (a plus)
Experience working directly with clients (a plus)
Solid understanding of advertising industry issues and interest in advancing Smart TV strategy
Strong track record of high‑level negotiation with established industry relationships
Successful internal and external relationship management
Ability to present to agencies and advertisers over phone and in person
Experience in entrepreneurial and established corporate cultures
Demonstrated ability to consistently close sales and generate revenues
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and good follow‑through
Bachelor's degree
