Foam Patterns - Hot Wire/Pattern Making- 2nd Shift

Location: Corporate Headquarters - Rothschild, WI 54474
Wausau Tile is seeking a detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and safety-conscious individual to join the Foam Mold team as a CNC / Hot Wire Operator. This role is responsible for programming and operating both a 4‑axis Hot Wire Foam Cutter and a 5‑axis CNC Router to manufacture precision foam molds and patterns. The successful candidate will also perform mold finishing, epoxy coating, and workspace organization in support of downstream production processes.
Key Responsibilities

Machine Programming

Interpret production schedules and build paperwork to determine mold and pattern requirements.
Program Hot Wire and CNC Router systems using specialized software.
Collaborate with supervisors to clarify technical specifications and troubleshoot programming concerns.
Machine Operation

Load foam billets onto machines and initiate cutting operations.
Set up equipment accurately and monitor cutting quality and performance.
Operate overhead cranes, pattern lathes, and other related machinery as required.
Pattern Finishing

Use hand tools, sanders, and shaping tools to refine foam patterns after machine cutting.
Perform precise manual finishing work where needed.
Coating & Final Prep

Apply epoxy resin to molds for production use.
Sand and smooth finished coatings for quality consistency and readiness.
Shop Support & Clean‑Up

Cut and manage scrap materials; assist with recycling efforts.
Maintain organized and safe workstations, tools, and equipment.
Restock supplies and contribute to general shop upkeep.
