Choral Director

Lawrence North High School is accepting applications for a Choral Director for the 20262027 school year. The Choral Director will provide high-quality instruction to secondary students in choral music, vocal technique, music literacy, performance skills, and ensemble development in alignment with the curriculum adopted by the Board of Education and the goals of the Performing Arts Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive choral music program that supports student growth, artistic excellence, and meaningful performance opportunities. Responsibilities include preparing students for concerts, school events, community performances, ISSMA Organizational Contest, ISSMA Solo and Ensemble, competitive show choir events, and other Performing Arts Department activities. The Choral Director will also serve as the vocal director for the school musical and collaborate with Performing Arts staff, accompanists, choreographers, theatre staff, parent volunteers, and school administration to support rehearsals, productions, performances, and department-wide events. Additional responsibilities include supervising students before, during, and after performances; maintaining accurate records; communicating effectively with students, families, and staff; supporting recruitment and retention efforts; coordinating with the parent support organization; and helping maintain a positive, inclusive, and highly competitive choral program. Qualified candidates should hold, or be eligible for, an appropriate Indiana teaching license in music education. Strong vocal pedagogy, piano skills, conducting skills, classroom management, organizational ability, communication skills, and experience with secondary choral ensembles and show choir are preferred. Additional extracurricular and stipend opportunities are assigned based on program needs.
