Sports Photographer And Social Media Manager
The Sports Photographer and Social Media Manager is responsible for assisting in the execution of the athletics marketing and communication plan emulating the vision, mission, core values, and strategic goals of Mount Paran Christian School. The program focuses on competitive positioning of the school through coordinated athletic brand management, increased visibility and awareness, visual communications support for various sports, and program promotional and informational reporting content. The Sports Photographer and Social Media Manager reports to marketing and communications and consults directly within the athletics administrative team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field. Experience in journalism, marketing, communications, advertising, photography, and/or public relations. Minimum of 3 years' experience in sports marketing and communications, graphic design, or photography with demonstrated success is required. Must be energetic, organized, and creative. The candidate will require general knowledge and passion for a wide variety of sports. Excellent writing and story-telling skills required with an eye for detail. Must possess the personal skills necessary to work effectively with media outlets as well as internal departments. Strong organizational and administrative skills that will effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Candidate will be a clear communicator, savvy editor, and creative storyteller through visual and written social media. Demonstrated expertise in creating visual graphics, photography, and simple video content for dissemination on social media, publications, press releases, and the athletics website. Must be able to develop rapport with media contacts for sports reporting. The candidate is also able to successfully manage and maintain a high volume of internal communications and digital platforms. Must possess the ability to be a team player and a self-starter that maintains outstanding organizational skills while effectively managing team deliverables and projects.

- Proficient in Photo editing software (Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop)
- Proficient of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and graphics layout
- Proficient in Photography and photo shoot art direction (Camera and lighting technology)
- Knowledge of exposure, frame rate, composure, shutter speed, camera set-up,
- Knowledge of basic storyboarding, preparing projects for editing, adding graphics and typography to game day imagery.
- Proven multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in social media platforms and content management required
- High level of discernment when creating content for public consumption
- Proficient in Microsoft and Google applications
- Great understanding of web and online tools or cloud-based web editing software

For Sports Information and Media Management —
Shows support and high esteem for the school and MPC athletics programs
Assist in the strategy and production of digital media for sports programs and communications which includes athletics as well as marketing and communications
Oversees all sports social media platforms and win reporting, photo uploads, and daily game day graphics etc.
Maintains athletic social media calendar and executes strategic and daily posts
Game photo capture/gathering and editing for timely social media and news post reporting
Helps coordinate Media Day photoshoots and special photo sessions with senior athletes
Coordinates and photographs team and player picture days in unison with athletic department and coaches
Builds design templates for Game Day, playoffs, milestones, and athletic recruiting graphics
Helps ensure athletics website information is current to include photos, news, statistics, and forms
Ensures sports schedules are correct on website for game-day graphics and posting
Works with coaches on coordinating any needed game photos per needs of Athletics
Assisting communications lead, helps as a sports media liaison to develop and maintains strong and productive relationships with media and news outlets
Serve as the primary photographer for the Athletic Department at athletic events, signing days, and senior nights.
Coordinates contract photography or student photographers if needed
Helps athletic and communications departments maintain statistical history records and player milestones on website sports content
Designs and/or updates various athletic department banners, name, and record boards
Keeps abreast of developments in the industry by actively participating in professional development opportunities
Acts as a key part of the multimedia team for marketing as a whole, serving greater school needs as needed
Willingness to participate in campus and community events, athletic or otherwise
Any other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
Lifting equipment, boxes, and other packages not exceeding 50 lbs. (males) and 25 lbs. (females); boxes heavier than 50 pounds should be lifted while wearing a back brace; excellent cognitive and hearing abilities; significant computer work.
