Position Summary
The Broadcasting Engineer will assist the Engineering Department with the technical operations and maintenance of the radio station’s broadcast systems. This position provides hands‑on experience with high-frequency (HF) and FM transmission systems, studio equipment, signal monitoring, and IT integration.
Job Responsibilities
Assist with the setup, testing, and maintenance of high-frequency, FM, and auxiliary transmission systems.
Support daily technical operations, including studio‑to‑transmitter link (STL) monitoring and troubleshooting.
Help maintain and repair broadcast studio equipment, including consoles, processors, and automation systems.
Participate in routine inspections, equipment calibration, and preventive maintenance activities.
Assist in logging and documenting transmitter readings, tower light status, and technical performance reports.
Work with IT and Engineering staff to support audio over IP (AoIP) systems, networking, and system backups.
Learn and assist with compliance procedures related to FCC technical regulations and station licensing.
Support the installation or upgrade of studio and field equipment as assigned.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized technical workspace.
