Lead Maintenance Craftsman – NRG Park, Houston, Texas

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Lead Maintenance Craftsman at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. NRG Park is a premier facility with four major venues: NRG Center, NRG Stadium, NRG Astrodome, and NRG Arena.
Responsibility

Direct and coordinate daily activities of maintenance personnel.
Oversee and supervise maintenance employees to keep NRG Park and its facilities properly maintained and safe.
Employee scheduling, coordinating and following up on preventative maintenance, general repairs, and daily operations of assigned facilities.
Inspect and maintain quality of repairs and maintenance performed by maintenance craftsmen.
Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, patching, re-lamping, replacing ceiling tiles, door hardware repair, and correcting simple plumbing problems.
Follow the preventive maintenance program, energy management program and standard operating procedures for all machinery and equipment.
Train and direct maintenance staff in proper operation of all facilities’ operational systems, equipment and procedures.
Utilize a preventive maintenance program to manage work orders and preventive maintenance items.
Assist in additions and improvements for NRG Park where necessary.
Coordinate repairs with outside contractors as required.
Ensure all fire, emergency, lighting and other control systems are in proper working condition and schedule required inspections.
Assist in gathering bid sheets, planning, and scheduling projects for outside contractors.
Facilitate other areas of facility operations on an as needed basis.
Develop and submit lists of necessary repairs and improvements.
Inform and communicate information to subordinate staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications

Ability to remove existing and install new and used materials such as door closers, panic hardware.
Ability to repair or replace doors, ceilings, and floor tiles.
Demonstrate knowledge in operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, and event-related services.
Record and log all work performed, complete work order slips and compile required reports.
Maintain effective working relationships with employees and others encountered in the course of employment and adhere to ASM Global codes of conduct.
Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others.
Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule.
Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
Demonstrate knowledge of practices and procedures related to facility maintenance and proper use and care of equipment.
Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
Position requires working outdoors, exposed to elements, long and irregular hours, day, evening, weekend, holidays.
Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED required. Three years of experience operating and maintaining building facilities including plumbing and general maintenance. Minimum two years of related supervisory experience.
Skills and Abilities

Exceptional communication, problem solving, industry terminology, facility capabilities, operational procedures, maintenance related services.
Computer Skills

Operate standard office equipment and personal computer(s) using Outlook, MS Windows, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Other Qualifications

Model all safety procedures.
Licensed driver in the United States.
Physical Demands

Regular movement around the facility, standing long hours during events, talking and hearing, work inside or outside building. Must lift up to 75 lbs, stand and work on feet 8‑10 hours a day, stretch and reach, climb ladders and work from heights.
