Exhibitor Services Specialist

Responsibilities

Receive, sort, and route incoming utility requests including Electric, Internet, Phone, Plumbing, Rigging and Cleaning.
Receive and respond to customer inquiries and issues.
Collect fees and payment of services.
Issue receipts for deposit.
Assure accuracy of all computations, reports and postings concerning charges, discounts, materials and labor.
Coordinate advance orders and on‑site changes from customers to Engineering.
Assure that service set‑ups by tradesmen are in accordance with customer order requirements.
Staff Exhibitor Services Desk during events.
Resolve normal field problems.
Collect past due or unpaid fees from on‑site customers.
Finalize customer utility requirements as assigned and prepare event summary reports.
Assist in analyzing collected data and prepare recommendations for charge rates, policies, procedures, services and communication materials for Exhibitor Services.
Operate in the Guest Services zones, meeting and greeting guests, offering answers to their queries.
Operate in the Service Centers, guiding visitors to their desired destination within and outside of the facility.
Complete a range of tasks including retail transactions, scooter rentals, copying and printing services.
Assist with coverage for the Administrative Front Desk as needed.
Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

One to three years of customer service experience preferred.
Familiar with basic accounting and Excel.
Excellent general office skills.
Intermediate computer literacy.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.
Demonstrated problem‑solving and communication skills, with excellent organizational, planning and interpersonal skills.
Ability to get along with co‑workers, customers, vendors and visitors to the facility.
Polite response to all individuals and ability to work well as a team player.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Self‑starter who can work independently.
Ability to stay calm under pressure.

Working Conditions

Location: On Site (Greater Columbus Convention Center, Columbus, OH). Indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to loud noise, heat and cold.
Physical Demands

Position requires mobility. Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Ability to go up and down stairs, occasional bending and stooping, frequent talking and hearing. Ability to lift up to fifty pounds.
