Overview
Be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste. Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as an Entry‑Level Central Characterization Program (CCP) Site Project Manager (SPM) located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Responsibilities

The SPM is responsible for data validation and verification to ensure Transuranic waste destined for WIPP meets the requirements of the WIPP Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC).

Generate and review procedures/documents, identify and disposition non‑conformances, schedule activities, and track performance.

Interface with regulatory agencies including, but not limited to, the Department of Energy (DOE), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and New Mexico Environment Department (NMED).

Act in accordance with the WIPP Hazardous Waste Facility Permit (HWFP) for the Central Characterization Program (CCP).

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or related discipline. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances.

Preferred Requirements

Previous WIPP experience.
