Job Overview

To conceptualize, design, render, and illustrate original 3D and 2D graphic solutions for merchandise and concession product lines, including sales/photo environments and customer experiences, for all Feld properties. Create initial sketches, color renderings, and illustrations; modify existing designs for new show needs; design diagrams and layouts for sales and event environments; self‑manage project aspects; prepare final art and specification sheets for printing/production; review final art and proofs and provide technical support in troubleshooting production problems.
Responsibilities

Conceptualize, design, render, and illustrate original 3D and 2D graphic solutions for merchandise and concession product lines, including sales/photo environments and customer experiences.
Create initial sketches and color renderings of products; modify existing designs to meet new needs for particular shows.
Design diagrams and layouts for sales and event environments.
Self‑manage selected aspects of projects, including organization and tracking.
Prepare final art and specs sheets for printing/production, using specialized technical knowledge and adhering to vendor specs.
Review final art and proofs, and provide technical support in troubleshooting production problems.
Research and develop new product ideas and current marketplace trends; brainstorm creative solutions and modify existing products and molds.
Design graphics materials and implement ideas; deliver completed art files for production within structured budgets and timelines.
Create accurate technical specs sheets for final production; manage selected project aspects.
Review final art produced by outside designers to ensure materials are accurate and ready for production or manufacturing; confirm vendor specs before finalizing files.
Include press approvals and proof approvals to ensure graphic quality of final printed/produced materials in various media.
Maintain high attention to detail throughout projects.
Study and resolve production problems, including misregistration, separation and trapping errors, halftone and resolution problems, color imaging errors.
Communicate with vendors, printers, and colleagues to troubleshoot problems in a timely and cost‑effective way.
Maintain accurate and complete records of work; utilize tracking systems; file electronic data; follow file naming protocol; annotate printouts for clarity; report to manager on job status and identify early concerns.
Keep up with releases of latest graphics software and hardware; advise manager on needs.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, illustration, packaging, toy design, product design, or relevant field, OR equivalent combination of education and work experience.
4+ years experience as designer and/or illustrator in a professional environment, where deliverables were created within budget and time constraints; experience in a full‑time corporate office environment.
Hands‑on expertise in graphics and software (Adobe Creative Cloud – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and 3D/modeling software (SketchUp Pro, Blender); specialized technical knowledge (Pantone color systems, 4‑color process printing, cross‑platform file conversions, pre‑press troubleshooting, photography, image manipulation).
Facility in and willingness to learn to use modeling software; ability to take and clean up product photos for use on specs sheets and web stores.
Hands‑on experience with 3D (product, package, environment), 2D (print), apparel (hats and t‑shirts), and web design and production.
Ability to carry out all phases of design projects, from initial concept through final art and production.
Strong conceptual, problem‑solving, design, illustration, technical and communication skills.
Ability to articulate thoughts, illustrate ideas, create turns, and prepare concept drawings in traditional (pencil, marker) and electronic (pixel‑ and vector‑based) media.
Ability to focus on business needs, take direction, juggle multiple projects in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Working knowledge of import and domestic manufacturing processes, including model sculpting, injection and rotation molding, offset and screen printing.
Professional portfolio of samples illustrating accomplishments in areas of expertise listed above.
