Position Summary
The Business Relationship Manager is responsible for driving organic growth by developing new business relationships, expanding core business deposits, and deepening member engagement. This field-based role focuses heavily on outbound prospecting, networking, and community involvement to generate new business opportunities and strengthen existing partnerships.

The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with strong consultative sales skills, a proven track record in business banking or relationship-based sales, and the ability to build lasting relationships with business owners and decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and grow business banking relationships through proactive outreach and networking

Generate new business accounts and expand existing member relationships

Conduct cold calling, outbound prospecting, and referral generation activities

Attend networking functions, community events, and business development meetings

Deliver presentations to prospective and existing business members

Build and maintain a strong pipeline using CRM and tracking tools

Collaborate with internal departments to ensure a seamless onboarding and service experience

Promote business deposit products and financial solutions aligned with member needs

Ensure compliance with all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory standards

Develop and execute an individual business development strategy to achieve performance goals

Qualifications

Four-year business degree preferred or equivalent professional experience

3–5 years of experience in business banking, business development, or relationship-based sales

Proven success in field-based business development and outbound prospecting

Strong consultative sales, presentation, and negotiation skills

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities

Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

Working knowledge of business deposit products and financial services

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

High level of professionalism, discretion, diplomacy, and sound judgment

Creative, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt quickly

Strong commitment to achieving and exceeding performance goals
