About the Role

SEI’s Wealth Advisor business is expanding its Client Team. The Business Development Director will lead new firm acquisition, onboarding, and activation for SEC‑registered RIAs, driving growth of assets and relationships in the RIA channel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business development and territory management for predominantly SEC‑registered RIA firms.
  • Deliver the entire SEI ecosystem—custody, technology, investment management—to drive net new business growth.
  • Coordinate with a Client Experience Associate to plan and execute territory strategy.
  • Lead and mentor a junior Sales professional.
  • Analyze market data, trends, consumer preferences, and competitor behavior to optimize client and territory growth.
  • Influence the acquisition of new advisor‑client relationships at all stages of the buying journey.
  • Shape and implement sophisticated, diverse growth agendas to motivate prospective clients to adopt SEI solutions.
  • Generate new interest and leads, and manage the development of inorganic leads through the sales process.
  • Proactively engage clients and prospective clients via in‑person meetings, online‑meetings, telephone and email, and both in‑person and virtual presentations.
  • Educate and persuade clients on SEI’s solutions across custody, technology, asset management and business‑centric offerings.
  • Serve as front‑line receiver of client feedback to drive improvements of SEI’s RIA experience, platform and services.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in financial services client sales and service support, with direct experience in RIA channel sales.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field.
  • Advanced degree or credentials preferred (MBA and/or CFP®).
  • Current NASAA Series65 or Series66 license, or ability to acquire within 90 days.
  • Strong knowledge of RIA custody and technology platforms and a robust network of RIA community relationships.
  • Direct experience influencing business owners in this channel and delivering custody/technology and business‑centric advice.
  • Extensive experience in multi‑channel communication (face‑to‑face, in‑person presentations, virtual presentations, live video, recorded video, phone and email).
  • Ability to influence decision‑making at the highest levels of an organization with a client‑first mentality.
  • Proof of consultative sales background and consistent record of performance in territory management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a history of client relationship management and buyer satisfaction.
  • Capacity for up to 70% travel.
