GDIT is looking for a Red Hat OpenShift Developer to support Government activities at Chantilly, VA. This position is eligible for a sign‑on bonus. The role requires US citizenship and a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph. Salary range is $161,500 – $218,500.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, certificates or training, or work experience.
Experience
7+ years of related experience in software engineering with Kubernetes/RedHatOpenShift environments.
Required Skills
RedHat OpenShift Kubernetes essentials: pods, deployments, services, replicasets, configmaps/secrets, namespaces, ingress.
YAML manifest authoring and kubectl commands.
Persistent volumes (PV/PVC, CSI drivers), service discovery, OVN‑Kubernetes pod communication.
OpenShift CLI commands: oc login, oc new‑project, oc new‑app, oc expose, oc rsh, oc logs, oc adm policy for RBAC.
Application development: microservices in Java, Node.js, Python, Go; REST APIs; YAML for K8s resources.
Web and client‑server programming with Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, CSS; Spring Boot; Vue, React, or Angular.
Cluster administration: installing, configuring, maintaining OpenShift 4.16+ clusters.
Container/Pod management: deployment, scaling, management of containerized applications.
MAS Operator lifecycle: understanding operators for MAS components.
Automation with Bash or Ansible for Day‑2 operations.
Security: RBAC roles, secrets, SCCs.
Upgrade experience with Spring Boot & Hibernate/JPA.
Experience with Linux/Windows systems and shell scripting.
Build automation: Gradle, Maven, Jenkins.
WebSphere or Tomcat, Podman for rootless containers.
Agile development: Jira, Confluence.
Version control: Git (GitHub or GitLab).
Customer security requirements, compliance tools, and processes.
Desired Certifications
RedHat Certified Cloud‑native Java Developer (EX378) or earlier EX283.
RedHat Certified OpenShift Administrator (EX280).
RedHat Certified Systems Administrator (RHSCA) for Linux.
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Application Developer (CKAD).
