Our client is a global social media marketing agency delivering bespoke, end-to-end services to some of the world's most recognized brands across FMCG, fashion, beauty, and tech. Their team of creatives, strategists, designers, editors, and account managers work in close collaboration to produce high-impact content and campaigns at scale. The agency is in an active growth phase, expanding its US presence and building out a senior accounts team to meet increasing client demand.
This is a senior account leadership role sitting at the heart of the agency's US operations. The Account Director will independently own and grow a portfolio of high-profile beauty clients, serving as their primary strategic point of contact across the full campaign lifecycle. Reporting into senior leadership, this person will be expected to lead from the front – driving client retention and growth, shaping campaign strategy, and mentoring the next generation of account talent. The mandate is both relational and commercial: deepen existing partnerships while proactively identifying opportunities to expand scope and revenue.
Responsibilities
- Own a portfolio of beauty client accounts end-to-end, serving as the senior strategic lead and primary day-to-day contact
- Lead campaign development from brief through delivery, coordinating across creative, strategy, and planning teams to produce work that meets and exceeds client objectives
- Build and maintain senior client relationships, developing a deep understanding of each client's business, goals, and upcoming priorities
- Write and present compelling proposals and pitches to senior client stakeholders, representing the agency's capabilities with confidence and precision
- Oversee multiple campaigns simultaneously, maintaining visibility across all workstreams and surfacing risks or issues proactively alongside recommended solutions
- Identify and pursue opportunities to grow existing accounts through proactive ideation and upselling of relevant services
- Represent account management as part of the new business pitch team, contributing to agency growth beyond existing clients
- Mentor and manage junior account team members, supporting their professional development and raising the standard of the team's work
- Deliver clear, thorough campaign reporting and strategic recommendations to clients across all touchpoints including email, calls, and in-person meetings
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a client servicing role at an agency or brand, with direct experience managing high-profile beauty clients
- Demonstrated track record of independently leading and growing beauty client accounts at a senior level
- Confident presenter and pitcher, with experience engaging senior and executive-level stakeholders
- Proven line management experience with a track record of developing junior team members
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously to a high standard
- Experience in influencer and performance marketing is essential
- Familiarity with the beauty industry's competitive landscape, consumer trends, and key players is a plus
- Background working across agency disciplines including planning and strategy is an asset
