Ohio Magazine is seeking an Associate Editor to shape compelling stories about the people, places, food, culture and experiences that make Ohio unique. We’re looking for a strong writer and sharp editor who thrives in a fast‑moving, digital‑first environment and is excited to tell stories across platforms.

Responsibilities

Write and edit stories for print and digital platforms

Copy edit stories and departments for grammar, clarity, accuracy and AP style

Develop digital‑first story ideas with strong audience appeal

Produce short‑form video and social media content tied to editorial coverage

Conduct interviews and report stories across Ohio

Plan and execute newsletter content

Assist with headline writing, web copy and SEO‑friendly digital packaging

Collaborate with editors, photographers and designers on multimedia storytelling

Appear on camera for short videos and social content

Qualifications

Strong reporting, writing and editing skills

Excellent command of AP style and copy editing fundamentals

Ability to write clean, engaging copy on deadline

Experience producing digital and social‑first content

Comfort shooting on phone and/or appearing in short‑form video content

Familiarity with social media platforms and audience engagement

Magazine, newspaper or digital media experience preferred

Interest in Ohio travel, food, culture and lifestyle storytelling essential
