Territory Sales Representative – Dairy Monitoring (California & Nevada)
Responsibilities
Grow sales within the assigned territory via direct sales to dairy operations.
Work cooperatively with Animal Health Account Managers to create target lists of dairies, develop action plans, and execute sales.
Establish and maintain relationships with executive offices and farm-level dairy management.
Develop, negotiate, manage, and grow long-term relationships and sales opportunities for Livestock Intelligence Monitoring products and services across the business enterprise.
Scope & Context
Individual contributor role; collaborate with internal stakeholders and partner with Account Managers.
Requires a broad knowledge of the dairy industry and understanding of the account management process.
Required Education/Experience
Four-year college degree or two-year dairy-specific degree; OR 5 years of dairy‑industry experience in lieu of a degree.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of combined experience in Sales, Sales Management, or Marketing roles in the agricultural field (preferably dairy).
Current knowledge of the US dairy industry.
Required Skills/Qualifications
Strong selling and negotiation skills.
Knowledge and ability to work with dealers and distributors.
Ability to build business relationships (internally and externally).
Ability to develop and implement accurate account plans.
Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix organization and pull through business.
Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
Strong understanding of financial/business metrics (Dairy ROI).
Ability to identify, develop, and maintain strategic accounts.
Sound decision‑making and innovative thinking.
Results‑oriented; able to work independently.
Superior organizational, analytical, and time‑management skills.
Travel overnight as necessary to meet territory goals.
Must reside in the territory covered.
Preferred Experience
Dairy industry experience, ideally technology exposure (monitoring, sort gates, milking equipment).
Experience in dairy production or aptitude to quickly learn the industry.
