Account Executive/Sr. AE

This is a full-time position on our Commercial Lines-Group Captive Team. The Account Executive/Sr. AE will be the relationship manager and strategic advisor on an assigned book of business. You will work with the Account Management Team to manage your book of business. You will strategize in cross-selling/rounding out coverages and work to ensure a seamless renewal process for clients and effectively deliver the resources of NFP to our clients. You will provide expert guidance on all commercial coverage lines. While having specialized knowledge in Group Captives is ideal, this can be obtained on the job if you have Commercial Lines experience. You will interact with clients on a day-to-day basis while developing and maintaining relationships with both client and carrier representatives. You will work with the Team to prepare applications, specifications and marketing strategy for new business as well as the renewals of assigned clients. Work is completed with a significant amount of independent discretion.
This is a full-time position, supporting our Wilmington, Delaware office. Remote option for well-experienced Commercial Lines candidates able to work on an EST schedule and can accommodate approximately 30% travel within an assigned East Coast territory. Title and Salary will be commensurate with experience and knowledge.
This role is designed for a relationship-driven professional who excels at guiding clients through complex risk decisions — without a sales production requirement. You'll serve as a trusted advisor while leveraging a deep bench of internal resources and subject matter experts to continually expand your technical expertise. You'll gain regional and national visibility, working across diverse clients, markets, and teams, while contributing to sophisticated risk strategies, including Group Captives and other complex insurance structures. Key deliverables include providing expert guidance to clients on all commercial coverage lines, partnering closely with Account Management, claims and loss control teams to identify coverage enhancements, leading stewardship, pre-renewal and renewal meetings, and coordinating internal subject matter experts to deliver a comprehensive client experience.
Essential duties and responsibilities include maintaining exemplary service relationships with clients, assisting in the preparation of renewal proposals, acting on and completing client requests, collaborating regularly with Account Management, claims and loss control teams, leading client meetings and presentations, maintaining a focus on client retention, satisfaction, and organic growth, and proactively resolving client issues.
Strategic responsibilities include acting as a central point of coordination across the risk management team, driving consistency in service delivery, contributing to the development and execution of client service plans, supporting internal collaboration, assisting in the renewal strategy discussions, coordinating the renewal marketing process, serving as the key communication link between client and the internal account team, and analyzing carrier quotes and coverage options.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include deep knowledge of Commercial Property & Casualty insurance, proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team-based service model, excellent written and verbal communication skills, familiarity with EPIC or other agency management systems, adaptability and flexibility in response to changing priorities and client needs, ability to maintain a professional and secure remote work environment, and ability to travel within an assigned East Coast territory.
Education and/or experience include Property & Casualty Broker's License required upon hire, CPCU or similar designation preferred, Bachelor's degree preferred, 10+ years of industry experience with a strong background in commercial insurance, and prior retail brokerage experience required.
