Senior Director of Talent and Learning
Reporting to: EVP & Chief HR Officer
Location: Hybrid – Buffalo, NY
Moog’s Corporate Group is seeking a Senior Director of Talent & Learning who will serve as the enterprise leader responsible for shaping, executing, and governing the company’s global learning strategy. The role integrates traditional learning & development, technical training, and knowledge management into a unified function that builds workforce capability, accelerates innovation, strengthens compliance, and supports strategic workforce planning and business growth across all regions.
Responsibilities
- Enterprise Learning Strategy: develop and execute a comprehensive global learning strategy that integrates leadership development, professional skills, technical training, and knowledge management; partner with HR directors, HR business partners and executive leadership to identify capability gaps; establish a multi‑year roadmap for learning modernization.
- Talent Programs and Processes: own enterprise talent processes including succession planning, annual talent reviews, performance management, assessment centers, coaching, mentoring and gigs; oversee a global team of facilitators.
- Learning Operations & Technology: manage global learning operations, LMS/LXP platforms, content development, vendor management, learning analytics; modernize the learning technology stack to support personalized learning and mobile access; use learning data to measure impact and forecast skill needs.
- Leadership Development & Talent Growth: partner with HR and business leaders to design and manage fit‑for‑purpose leadership development programs; build skills taxonomies, career pathways and capability frameworks.
- Technical Training & Compliance: oversee all enterprise‑wide technical training programs; ensure compliance with regulatory, customer and industry standards and build a global governance model.
- Knowledge Management: lead development of a knowledge management strategy; implement systems that support knowledge retention, expert networks, communities of practice and digital repositories.
- Global Team Leadership: lead a global team of L&D professionals, technical trainers, instructional designers and knowledge management specialists; manage budgets, resources and vendor relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, HR, or related field.
- Over 10 years of progressive experience in learning & development, technical training, talent management or related fields.
- Experience leading global teams in a complex, highly regulated industry (Aerospace & Defense strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated success with integrating multiple learning functions or leading large‑scale learning transformations.
- Expertise in modern learning technologies, digital learning and knowledge management systems.
- Ability to influence senior leaders and drive enterprise‑wide change.
- Must live locally to the Buffalo, NY area or be willing to relocate to work onsite.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Organizational Development, HR, or related field.
- Preferred: Understanding of engineering, manufacturing, and technical workforce development.
- Preferred: Experience with Department of Defense, aerospace or defense customer requirements.
- Preferred: Certifications in instructional design, knowledge management or leadership development.

Buffalo, NY: $230,000 – $275,000 annually.
