As a full-time Specialty Business Reporter, the successful candidate will anchor coverage of jewelry industry news for a trade publication and website, producing high-visibility news stories and analytical articles while working in a hybrid environment that includes remote work and time in the New York City office.
Key responsibilities

Gather and write balanced, factual news articles on jewelry industry topics, ensuring timely and well-sourced content for all media platforms
Identify and develop stories that position the publication as a leading news provider in the jewelry sector, focusing on key areas such as diamonds, gemstones, and retail regulations
Build relationships with industry professionals and engage with readers on social media to promote content initiatives and enhance audience interaction

Required qualifications

Degree in journalism, communications, business, or a related field
Minimum five years of journalism experience, including at least two years in business reporting related to jewelry or retail
Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
Solid understanding of search engine optimization, social media best practices, and ethical journalism
Working knowledge of digital content management systems and generative AI tools
