Overview of (Bi-Lingual) Brand Director Position:
UNIQLO Global Creative Lab
The Brand Director operates as a member of Fast Retailing Global Creative Lab NY to ensure marketing, campaign, and strategic projects are completed efficiently and with excellence and on schedule. This role is responsible for overall process, success on projects, and executes operational responsibilities - such as project management planning coordination, completion of projects, budgets, project schedules, and output delivery. Fluency in both Japanese and English is strongly preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee all aspects of projects, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor and summarize progress of projects, and prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project.
- Lead strategic thinking and drive project development, in close collaboration with the Strategy team and key stakeholders.
- Oversee junior associate in managing projects from the proposal phase to kickoff briefing.
- Own and manage the master Project Calendar timeline via Project Management Tool.
- Own and execute project management/workflow system data entry, and reporting; deliverables and asset management.
- Serve as the key day-to-day project contact with internal partners, such as creative team.
- Mobilize and drive the integrated team towards forward progress, action and results.
- Identify potential project risks and develop contingency plans.
- Proficiently write internal/external meeting minutes, reports, POVs, memos, and emails, ensuring accuracy, proper grammar, usage, tonality, and respect.
- Ensure that all project-related communications are timely, accurate, and mutually understood by all company stakeholders.
- Keep team members informed on all project developments.
- Support the application of proper administrative controls to ensure all deadlines/release dates are met.
- Monitor and manage project budgets and overall process.
- Be flexible to work a retail schedule and accommodate international meetings based on business need.

- Partner with marketing project leads.

- Manage client expectations and know as much about how marketing leads business as they do.

Manager:
- Day-to-day go-to person for creative teams.

- Understand staffing and resource requirements.
- Work cross-functionally with other team directors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of marketing and project management/account management experience required; must have experience at a creative agency or in-house creative department.
- Strongly preferred BA in Marketing or related subjects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, good numerical ability, and an ability to work on one’s own with light supervision.
- Confident and dynamic personality.
- Demonstrated aptitude for understanding the nature of a business problem and coming up with incisive and effective solutions.
- Knowledge of apparel industry and apparel advertising production. An appreciation in fashion trends and aesthetics.
- Experience using Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Project Management Software, and creating polished presentations.
- Strong presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Organizational skills and a great eye for detail essential.
- Exhibits objectivity.
- Exhibits openness to others’ views.
- Business-level skill in Japanese is an asset.
- Ability to travel internationally for meetings and production.
