Job Overview

The Senior Director of Student Accounts is a strategic leader focused on all aspects of student billing, collections, and customer service related to student financial accounts. The role reports to the Controller within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the overall management and direction of the Student Accounts Office, including billing, cashiering, payment plans, collections, refunds, and compliance with all federal, state, and university regulations. The Director also oversees the university’s PCI compliance program, student loan services, and related functions, drives process improvements, leverages technology to enhance the student experience, and ensures the fiscal integrity of student financial records across all Georgetown campuses.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and direct the Student Accounts Office across billing, cashiering, payment plans, collections, refunds, and compliance.
Oversee PCI compliance and student loan services.
Collaborate with Financial Aid, Registrar, UIS, accounting and budget teams to manage student eligibility, enrollment status, system enhancements, and general ledger reconciliation.
Lead continuous process improvements and technology initiatives to enhance the student experience.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum seven years of progressively responsible experience in student accounts, bursar operations, or a related financial service area, preferably in higher education.
Minimum three years of supervisory or management experience.
Comprehensive understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and federal regulations governing student financial aid.
Demonstrated ability to implement and manage complex financial/student information systems such as Banner, Workday, or Touchnet.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in a relevant field (Business, Higher Education, or related).
Experience working in a large, decentralized university environment.
Compensation

Salary range: $103,723.00 – $202,778.93. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including the candidate’s qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the university’s business needs and external factors.
