Seeking a full-time remote Character Technical Director, this role focuses on character rigging, simulation setup, and technical animation, emphasizing character simulation performances for a new project while collaborating with various creative teams.
Key responsibilities:
Perform technical animation and character FX for shot production, including cloth and hair simulation
Collaborate with the Character Asset Team to create effective simulation and animation rigs for diverse character styles
Handle secondary animation using physical simulation, rigging, and sculpting tools
Required qualifications:
Experience in hair and/or cloth simulation and shot finaling
Thorough understanding of animation principles and extensive knowledge of anatomy and kinematics
Solid experience with Python scripting and familiarity with collaborative environments
Minimum of 3 CG feature film productions experience
Bachelor's degree in Art, Illustration, Computer Graphics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
