Job Summary
Green Dot Corporation is seeking a Lead Web Engineer to join the Consumer Engineering Team, focusing on building scalable, secure, and high‑performance web applications that support our financial technology platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and develop enterprise‑grade web applications using modern frameworks and cloud‑native technologies.
Lead the design and implementation of modular, white‑labeled, and localized web solutions.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Product, Design, Mobile, and Backend Engineering to deliver seamless user experiences.
Drive technical initiatives to improve performance, maintainability, and scalability of web platforms.
Implement observability and monitoring solutions to ensure system reliability and user satisfaction.
Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices across the web domain.
Translate business requirements into technical solutions that align with compliance, security, and accessibility standards.
Operate in an AI‑driven SDLC environment, leveraging tools like GitHub Copilot and Azure DevOps.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of web development experience, with 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
Expert‑level proficiency in React and Angular frameworks.
Experience with Azure Cloud (Functions, Blob Storage, Service Bus) and AWS Cloud services.
Experience containerizing web applications using Docker and AKS.
Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB.
Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA) and inclusive design practices.
Experience implementing and managing Datadog dashboards, monitors, and alerts.
Proficiency in RESTful API design, OAuth2, and microservices architecture.
Experience with automated testing, unit testing, TDD, and CI/CD pipelines.
Proficiency with VS Code, Postman, Azure DevOps, Git, Jira, Confluence, and Figma.
Strong grasp of web security, encryption standards, and privacy compliance.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, agile environment with AI‑enhanced workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in fintech or consumer‑facing web platforms.
Familiarity with operational domains such as payments, identity verification, and customer onboarding.
Contributions to open‑source web libraries or technical publications.
Location Requirement
This position is open only to candidates who currently reside in Los Angeles, CA.
Position Type & Pay
Regular full‑time; targeted base salary: $139,900 to $199,300 per year. Final compensation will be determined by qualifications, expertise, and geographic location.
