Watch this video to see how you can make a difference at the Selinsgrove Center!DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position supports construction, renovation, and repair projects across the Selinsgrove Center campus to protect safety and maintain high-quality spaces. The work helps ensure that buildings stay strong, functional, and comfortable for residents and staff. As a Carpenter 1, you will perform the following duties:
Shop Maintenance: Keep the carpenter shop organized and uphold safe housekeeping practices Structural Work: Repair roofs, soffits, spouting, and other building features to maintain safety and stability Construction Tasks: Build forms, frames, partitions, ceilings, and install or repair doors using hand and power tools Personalized Projects: Create shelves, furniture, and other wooden items to support individual living areas Surface Repairs: Fix wood, concrete, and manufactured surfaces and apply paint when needed Collaboration: Work with other trades on tasks such as concrete work, moving equipment, repairing beds, or assisting with welding

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Successful completion of the Building Trades Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or Three years of experience in the construction, installation, repair, restoration, or maintenance of structures and articles made from wood, composite, and wood substitute materials;or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.
