Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Editorial Producer to join the FOX Business team in Washington, DC. As the Senior Editorial Producer, you will craft compelling reporter story ideas and pitches, supervise the DC assignment desk’s newsgathering efforts to support reporter and show teams, and maintain a focus on both business and political news. Shift: Sunday through Thursday, 11:00AM – 8:00PM.
Responsibilities

Participate in editorial decisions for both day‑of and future stories.
Build the FBN DC Bureau’s daily outlook with original content and best elements while maintaining impeccable editorial standards.
Oversee the execution and development of assignment desk newsgathering and reporter stories.
Facilitate effective communication between the desk, reporter teams, and shows.
Communicate with talent, producers, the desk, and control rooms during breaking news.
Identify and recognize stories with high potential for compelling television.
Participate in daily team meetings to present and develop content.
Mentor and develop staff including Assignment Editors, Desk Assistants, and Interns.
Approve and edit daily and future reporter team pitches/story offers.
React to breaking news, ensuring that the right content is getting to shows and the networks in the right order.
Oversee the development of research packets, facts, and elements for daily reporter offers.
Work hands‑on with the reporter teams to ensure they receive the necessary research and elements needed for the best story offers daily.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience.
Newsroom experience and/or producing in the field or for a television newscast.
Excellent organizational and supervisory skills and the ability to create an environment that fosters teamwork.
Demonstrated experience with handling on‑air talent and working with an assignment desk.
Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and meet multiple daily deadlines.
Exceptional editorial and writing skills, with the ability to recognize stories with high potential for compelling television.
Strong knowledge and passion for current events, politics, and business news stories shaping the national conversation.
Flexibility and willingness to jump in whenever news breaks, including hours outside of the usual shift.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay range: $128,000.00–149,000.00 annually. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union‑represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
