Pre‑Press Coordinator

This position coordinates all pre‑press activities in support of the multiple printing methods within Sharp Corporation (Offset Litho, Flexo, Happa, Gottscho, etc.). Working independently, the coordinator manages the graphics workflow from customer initiation through final artwork approval.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Follow all corporate safety policies and procedures.
Coordinate with the designated Project Managers and Value Stream Specialist to schedule the workflow of artwork, proofing and pre‑press activities to meet agreed timelines.
Consult with the Print Shop Supervisor to schedule the output of print mats and print plates for the Conshohocken and Allentown facilities.
Follow pre‑press process controls and procedures for plate densities, plate thickness, and dot size.
Follow specifications on job jackets and ensure all specs are correct.
Check work orders (Print Mat and Printed Foil) for errors, ensuring all item numbers are correct for Conshohocken and Allentown.
Compute distortion factors and compression factors.
Set up the output of print mats and check print mats for accuracy.
Enter time in QAD for the work orders.
Ensure proofs sent out are accurate by comparing them to printed file proof.
Send output of final proofs to the customer.
Maintain and perform routine maintenance on pre‑press equipment and monitor maintenance needs to determine scheduling needs.
Verify that all selected substrates, inks, and printing characteristics are properly set up for the required plate output devices.
Establish and maintain archive and support files to ensure proper regulatory compliance controls and accurate revision history is accessible.
OTHER DUTIES

Other duties may also be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma required; technical or associate’s degree preferred.
Minimum five (5) years rampage experience in lieu of a degree.
General knowledge of FDA regulations related to clinical (GCPs) and cGMPs.
General knowledge of quality control/assurance.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Good organizational and planning skills.
TECHNICAL SKILLS

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Global Vision System, and Microsoft Excel.
Working knowledge of Macintosh computers and XMF Rip System.
Ability to evaluate new artwork files for printability and color reproduction.
Experience modifying files to align with proofing and printing characteristics.
