Prime Video is a first‑stop entertainment destination offering customers a vast collection of premium programming in one app available across thousands of devices. Prime members can customize their viewing experience and find their favorite movies, series, documentaries, and live sports – including Amazon MGM Studios‑produced series and movies; licensed fan favorites; and programming from Prime Video add‑on subscriptions such as Apple TV+, Max, Crunchyroll and MGM+. All customers, regardless of whether they have a Prime membership or not, can rent or buy titles via the Prime Video Store, and can enjoy even more content for free with ads.
As a Prime Video technologist, you’ll have end‑to‑end ownership of the product, user experience, design, and technology required to deliver state‑of‑the‑art experiences for our customers. You’ll get to work on projects that are fast‑paced, challenging, and varied, and you’ll also be able to experiment with new possibilities, take risks, and collaborate with remarkable people.
Responsibilities

Design and build the data & machine‑learning infrastructure that powers personalization and recommendation systems.
Work with scientists, product managers, and engineers to translate business and functional requirements into concrete system deliverables.
Build new platform services from the ground up, driving innovative approaches to personalization.
Provide opportunities for scientists and engineers to invent and implement scalable ML solutions supporting new customer experiences.
Mentor other engineers, influence technical strategy, and drive engineering best practices across the team.
Basic Qualifications

3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
3+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
3+ years of designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
3+ years of programming using a modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object‑oriented design experience.
3+ years of experience with big data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, Lucene/SOLR or Storm/Samza.
Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
