Job type: Part Time

Creative Technologist (Real-Time & Motion)

Location: Santa Cruz, CA

Schedule: Part-time, In-Person, 3 days / 18-24 hours per week (days to be determined)

Compensation: $25–$38/hr DOE

Start: ASAP

Visual Endeavors is a boutique creative technology studio in Santa Cruz building immersive experiences for live events, concerts, and branded activations. We design the systems, build the hardware, and write the software that powers our shows.

We're looking for a creative technologist to grow into this work. The role is centered on real-time visual software (primarily Notch and TouchDesigner), 3D and motion graphics support, with some hands-on studio work in our Santa Cruz R&D space. You'll be working directly with our senior technologists and creative director on client projects, R&D, and live deployments. This starts as a part-time role with potential to grow.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and iterate on Notch and TouchDesigner projects for live events and installations
  • Create motion graphics and 3D assets for real-time pipelines
  • Help test, configure, and deploy visual systems on PixelCannon media servers
  • Pitch in on studio ops and show logistics when needed

You Might Be a Good Fit If You…

  • Have worked in Notch, TouchDesigner, or a similar real-time environment
  • Have a background in motion graphics, 3D, generative art, or interactive media
  • Are a recent grad from a games, interactive media, creative technology, or similar program — or self-taught with a strong portfolio
  • Are curious about the full pipeline, not just the screen
  • Can work independently, take feedback well, and figure things out

Bonus Points For

  • Cinema 4D, Blender, After Effects, or motion graphics experience
  • Unity, Unreal, p5.js, openFrameworks, or creative coding background
  • Scripting: Python, GLSL, JS, Lua, or CHOP/DAT in TD
  • Disguise, Resolume, Pixera, or QLab
  • DMX, sACN/ArtNet, or networked AV systems
  • Live events, touring, or installation experience
