Our client, a leading global retailer, is seeking an Associate Designer to join their women’s apparel design team based in New York City.

This role is ideal for a highly organized, technically strong, and creative design professional with experience supporting women’s woven and cut-and-sew categories. The position will work closely with senior leadership on seasonal development, technical design execution, CAD creation, and product development initiatives.

The ideal candidate has worked on:

Women’s woven and cut-and-sew apparel

Technical flat sketching and tech pack development

CAD presentations, print layouts, and artwork placement

Garment construction, fit, and apparel development processes

Cross‑functional collaboration with merchandising, production, and overseas partners

Key Responsibilities:

Create hand sketches and fashion croquis to communicate design concepts and silhouettes

Develop detailed Adobe Illustrator flat sketches for development and production

Assist in creating and maintaining comprehensive tech packs

Support seasonal product development across multiple apparel classifications

Create CADs, embroidery layouts, artwork concepts, and presentation materials

Organize line sheets, development files, and seasonal design materials

Ensure accuracy and consistency across all development documents

Support special design initiatives and collaborative team projects

Manage multiple deadlines within a fast‑paced environment

Utilize or learn emerging AI fashion tools and 3D development technologies

Requirements:

Strong hand sketching and fashion illustration ability

Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills

Solid understanding of garment construction and apparel development

Experience creating professional tech packs

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced fashion environment
