Role Overview

BMO, the eighth‑largest bank in North America, seeks a senior relationship manager to build and grow its Emerging Middle Market segment ($10M‑$50M revenue). The role focuses on business development, key client relationship management, and complex deal structuring while driving revenue and profitability.
Responsibilities

Facilitate business development and manage key client relationships.
Generate significant revenue through sales and syndications.
Serve as an escalation point for complex client issues and resolve conflicts.
Structure high‑value, complex deals and oversee credit approvals.
Drive negotiations, pricing coordination, and ensure alignment with client and bank objectives.
Manage high‑value client portfolios, focusing on cross‑selling, retention, and profitability.
Implement cross‑selling initiatives and convert opportunities into revenue‑generating sales.
Lead market coverage strategies to expand portfolios and identify opportunities.
Represent the bank at industry forums and conferences, providing insights on trends and competitors.
Engage with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams to align strategies and address client needs.
Deliver performance reports to leadership on team performance, client satisfaction, market trends, and key initiatives.
Provide strategic advisory on loan products, rates, terms, collateral, and tailored solutions.
Build and maintain long‑term relationships with high‑value and strategic clients.
Analyze market trends, client industry developments, and competitive positioning.
Identify share‑of‑wallet opportunities and nurture portfolio growth exceeding ROE thresholds.
Ensure regulatory compliance, internal controls, and risk management in all relationship management activities.
Act as a specialist resource to senior leaders, applying expertise to complex situations.
Take measured risks within the risk framework while protecting bank assets.
Qualifications

10+ years of relevant experience in relationship, account, or portfolio management within a corporate or segmented banking environment, with demonstrable sales metrics.
Bachelor’s degree required; degrees in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
Credit qualification knowledge for credit‑related responsibilities.
Advanced proficiency in project management, change management, product knowledge, regulatory compliance, deal structuring, portfolio management, credit risk assessment, customer service, stakeholder management, negotiation, and customer relationship building.
Strong network of Centers of Influence and proven track record of sales performance.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $122,400.00 – $228,000.00 (Salaried; may include commission and performance incentives). Compensation may vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications.
