Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Community Affairs Coordinator. This role will build and maintain relationships with a variety of community-based organizations, senior centers, religious groups, schools, advocacy organizations, social service agencies, civic groups, and district offices of elected officials. Relationship-building efforts will focus on hospital catchment areas on Long Island. The Coordinator will represent NYU Langone Health’s interests in community settings, contributing to a positive reputation, facilitating mission‑centered initiatives, and providing information about services and programs to the public. The Coordinator will report to the Director of Community Affairs and will work collaboratively with staff in the Office of Government and Community Affairs. This position will be located full‑time in Mineola, New York, with occasional travel to Suffolk County and Manhattan. The candidate must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed to cover events and meetings.

Job Responsibilities

Represent NYU Langone Health at community events, with a focus on Long Island hospital catchment areas.

Support the coordination of staffing and supply logistics for community events.

Arrange meetings and presentations for leadership, departments, programs, and services within NYU Langone Health for community audiences.

Monitor local news and issues of interest to the health system.

Attend internal meetings to stay informed of health system priorities and updates.

Contribute to NYU Langone Health’s In the Community annual report.

Provide activity reports to the Senior Manager and staff in the Office of Government and Community Affairs.

Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.

Assist in managing the Long Island Community Affairs budget.

Be available to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, with at least 2 years of relevant experience working directly in the community.

Strong ability to communicate and interact effectively with community members and partners while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, initiate new ideas, prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, and manage time effectively.

Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, web‑based meeting platforms, and familiarity with social media platforms.

Salary Transparency
The salary range for this role is $66,299.99 - $80,000.00 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
