About this Opportunity

As an Internal Business Development, you will assist in sales efforts to promote Orion Advisor Technology solutions to prospective Registered Investment Advisors and existing customers. This role works to increase sales within a region in partnership with the External Business Development to meet sales goals. Additionally, this position will work with industry partners and internal Orion employees to support sales efforts. The role will work as a Hybrid employee, with three or more days each week required on‑site at one of the listed office locations. Candidates should be located within a commutable distance to an office.
Responsibilities

Work closely with VP, Regional Sales to develop and execute a business plan to maximize territorial sales, including assessing the current state of the assigned territory to identify opportunities for new business and to maintain and advance the sales cycle.
Develop relationships with Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), industry partners, and contacts to generate new prospects and help develop their business.
Receive incoming calls and answer questions accurately and professionally regarding Orion offerings.
Maintain thorough understanding of all company products, including benefits and drawbacks, in order to advise RIAs on selecting correct Orion services.
Provide website tours to RIAs to market and promote company products and services.
Contact advisors following onsite visits and demonstrations to provide additional information, obtain feedback, and utilize needs‑based selling techniques to inquire about additional product needs.
Answer potential client questions and follow‑up calls.
Reengage previous lost sales opportunities.
Maintain an accurate, up‑to‑date detailed CRM database for profiling custodians, their sales teams, industry consultants, integration partners, and other relationships—sales funnel, notes, calendar appointments, and other pertinent information.
Attend and participate in the development and sponsorship of conferences.
Discuss and develop ideas with the marketing department regarding new campaigns and new tools.
Stay up to date on industry knowledge by reading industry publications.
Qualifications

Knowledge of Orion products and services, the marketplace, competitors, key partners, and the general financial industry.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service to ensure high customer satisfaction.
Ability to develop public speaking skills to effectively host various presentations.
Professionalism and diplomacy when communicating with clients or partners.
Fundamental sales skills: negotiation, persuasion, up‑selling, closing, follow‑up, and networking to persuade others of the value of the products and services.
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
Series65 license or both Series7 and 66 licenses required. Licenses must be obtained within 90 days of hire if not yet held; failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.
Minimum 6 months of related experience.
Ownership and management of relationships with stakeholders directly and effective collaboration with people at all levels in an organization.
